Do I need an account to use ComeAndGo?

Accepted Answer

No. Anyone can create a workspace, join one, or report abuse without signing in. An account is optional and buys capability, never access — it exists so you can keep control of workspaces opened from another device, and so a subscription has somewhere to attach.

Can I send images?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and no account is needed for it. Everyone entering a workspace ticks one box first: you take responsibility for pictures you send, and you agree to be shown pictures other people send. It is required to join, and it is the only thing anybody is ever asked to agree to. Pictures are messages rather than files: no storage bucket, no CDN, no link that outlives the workspace.

What happens when the timer ends?

The encryption key for that workspace is destroyed. There is no trash, no recovery, and no way for ComeAndGo to bring the workspace back — not even from its own servers.

How long can a workspace last?

Accepted Answer

From 5 minutes to 7 days, or any exact number of hours in between. Seven days is the ceiling on every plan; lengths beyond a few hours require Pro.

Is anything kept after a workspace is destroyed?

There is one exception. If someone files an abuse report about a workspace, a copy of that workspace's contents is taken and kept for up to 90 days so it can be reviewed and, where the law requires, reported to the authorities. That copy is not destroyed when the timer ends, and the report form says so before it is submitted. Nothing else survives.

Is ComeAndGo end-to-end encrypted?

No, and it does not claim to be. A workspace is encrypted with a key the service holds and destroys when the timer ends, which makes every remaining copy of that workspace permanently undecryptable — but while a workspace is alive the service can reach its contents. That is a deliberate trade: it is what allows the assistant to work inside a workspace and what allows an abuse report to be acted on. The key that lets people in lives in the link fragment, after the #, which browsers do not include when requesting a page — so opening or previewing a link does not hand that key to the server, and anyone who has the full link can enter.

Does ComeAndGo support voice and video calls?

Yes, in workspaces created by someone on a Pro plan. Nothing switches on a microphone or camera before the person has read what is about to happen and agreed to it, calls are never recorded, and every stream is routed through an SFU rather than directly between browsers so that participants never learn each other's IP addresses.
